Rainer Ficken joined Crescent Communities in 2023 and serves as the Senior Managing Director over The River District. Rainer is responsible for Crescent Communities largest mixed-use master planned community in the portfolio with 8M SF entitled for office, 5,000 homes and apartments, 500k SF of retail and 1,000 hotel rooms located in Charlotte, NC between the Catawba River, and the Charlotte International Airport.
 
Prior to joining Crescent Communities Rainer served as the Executive Vice President of Master Plan Communities for Caldwell Companies in Houston, TX. Rainer has over 35 years of combined experience in land development, consulting, community planning, and development, and during his career has developed and led the operations of various large scale Master Planned Communities within Texas.
 
Prior to Caldwell Companies, Rainer was with Brookfield Properties for 17 years (formerly Newland Communities) as a Senior Vice President. His combined education and planning experience earned him the distinction of AICP from the American Institute of Certified Planners and is an active member of the American Planning Association (APA).
